The hamper that goes home with the newlyweds

At an Indian wedding the couple receives a mountain of gifts in one evening: envelopes, dinner sets, dry fruit trays, more envelopes. Most of it goes into a cupboard. A wedding hamper works when everything in it has a place in their new home. That is what a Raajkosh chest is: you choose 3 to 6 handmade soy candles in the gift chest builder, pick the chest style and a ribbon, write a message, and we deliver it across India.

The pricing rule is simple. Each piece is charged at its shop price, plus the chest style. Choose 4 or more pieces and 10% comes off the pieces. The builder shows the full price before checkout; the totals here are for the pieces alone.

Three wedding chests and what each one says

The chest style is added on top of each total. A fourth piece takes 10% off all four.

Shaadi reds and gold suits a traditional family: the Urli pair sits either side of their door, the four painted Matki pots go on a windowsill or the mandir shelf, and the ten red Heart Tealights are for their first evening at home together.

Their first flat suits a couple moving into a rented place in a new city. The conch-shaped Seashell pair goes in the bathroom or bedroom, the Braided Candles on the dining table, and Vanilla Reverie, our only scented candle, by the bed.

Soft and floral suits a couple whose wedding was all pastels and peonies.

Picking pieces for a couple you know well, or barely know

• The bride's close friend or the groom's cousin: you know their taste, so go personal. Add a message about how they met, or the day you first saw them together.
• Family friends of the parents: stay traditional. Urli, Diya, Lotus and Matki fit almost every Indian home.
• An office colleague's wedding: neutral and modest. Three pieces in one colour story, no hearts.
• A couple with a small home: pieces that look good unlit, so the chest becomes decor rather than storage. Every piece in our range is a shaped candle meant to be seen.

Timing it around the wedding day

We do not promise a delivery date. Orders dispatch in 24 to 48 hours and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch, so for a gift you want to hand over at the venue, order well before and check the delivery estimate for your pincode on the product page.

A better plan for many guests: send the chest to the couple's home a week after the wedding. They will be unpacking, the envelopes will be counted, and your chest arrives on its own with your message, not lost in a pile of fifty boxes.

When a candle hamper is the wrong wedding gift

Some couples would rather have cash for the new home, an appliance from their registry, or a hamper of dry fruits and sweets for the family. For those, the envelope, a department store or a sweet shop is the better choice. Our chest is only candles: no food, no chocolates, no bottles. It suits a couple who will enjoy decor that came from someone who thought about it.

Paying, returns and a line for the couple

Payment is prepaid only through UPI, card, net banking or wallet; there is no cash on delivery. Orders of Rs 999 or more ship free, and every three-piece chest above passes that line on the pieces alone. Report any damage within 24 hours of delivery for a replacement or refund.

Tell them, or write it in the message: trim each wick to about 5 mm, keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours, and never leave a candle burning alone.
