The story

Heart Rope Candles

Heart-shaped candles with a thick rope-weave rim, like a little woven basket holding a heart of pale wax. Buy one on its own, or the set of four in taupe, butter yellow, sage green and dusty pink.

They are hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar and finished by hand, so the weave and the colour vary a little between pieces. A custom fragrance can be added on request.

The set of four is a lovely gift for a couple, for an anniversary or Valentine's Day, with enough hearts to line a mantelpiece or a dining table. A single heart is a small, thoughtful thank-you. Both look as good unlit as lit, so they double as décor long after the occasion has passed.

Candle safety

Burn it well

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended, and never fall asleep with one lit.
  • Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every use.
  • Burn on a stable, heat-proof surface.
  • Keep away from children, pets, drafts, curtains and anything flammable.
  • Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
  • Stop using the candle when about 1 cm of wax remains.
  • Containers and holders get hot. Let them cool before touching or moving them.
