For the room she moves into. After the wedding she moves into a new home, often her in-laws', and her room is the one corner that is hers. The two sculpted peonies go on her dressing table, the marbled conch pair on a bedside or a bathroom ledge, and Vanilla Reverie, our only scented candle, by the bed. The trousseau is a different hamper

In many families a "bridal hamper" means the trousseau trays: lehenga, jewellery, make-up, dry fruits and sweets, sent by the groom's family. We do not make any of that. A boutique, a jeweller, a beauty store and a sweet shop are where those come from, and a hamper decorator can dress the trays. Our chest is only candles, and it sits beside the trousseau as a smaller, personal gift.

Getting it to her before the functions start

Orders dispatch in 24 to 48 hours and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch. We do not promise a delivery date, so order well ahead of the function and check the estimate for her pincode on the product page. Wedding houses are chaotic; sending it to her parents' home a week before the functions is safer than sending it to the venue.

Orders of Rs 999 or more ship free; below that, Rs 79. Payment is prepaid only (UPI, card, net banking or wallet); no cash on delivery. Report damage within 24 hours of delivery for a replacement or refund.

A line for the card: trim each wick to about 5 mm, keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours, keep candles well away from lehengas and dupattas, and never leave one burning alone.
