2. A tray or small dish to hold your watch, rings, earphones and lip balm, so the clutter has a home.
3. One personal object: a photo frame, the book you are reading, or a little ceramic piece.
4. A bit of greenery: a small potted plant or a bud vase with one flower.
5. A candle, for the half hour before sleep, or as a piece of decor when unlit. A shaped candle from a maker like Raajkosh (Jalandhar, Punjab) works here because it looks like an object, not a supply.

Water bottle, phone charger and medicine strips can stay too, ideally in a drawer or on the tray.

Getting the heights right on a small table
