Where to buy spiral candles online in India

If you want twisted spiral candles delivered to your home in India, our Spiral Pillar Candles are Rs 179 for one candle or Rs 799 for the set of five, one in each colour: ivory, pink, blue, yellow and navy. They are hand-poured in pure soy wax in our workshop in Jalandhar, Punjab.

Most listings you find for "spiral candle" in India are wholesale catalogues that sell by the carton to shops. If you only want a few for your own table, a gift or a Diwali or Christmas set-up, buy from a retail store that shows the real price and ships one order to one address.

What a spiral candle is, and why people buy it

A spiral (or twisted) candle is a pillar candle whose body turns in a twist from the base to the top. It does the same job as a plain pillar candle, but the twist catches light and shadow, so it looks like decor even when it is not lit. That is why people buy them for:

• Dining and coffee tables, in a row of three or five in mixed colours
• Shelves and consoles, next to books, plants or a small brass piece
• Festive set-ups for Diwali, Christmas and New Year, where colour matters more than fragrance
• Housewarming gifts, because a set of five looks complete in a box

Which colour to pick

If you cannot choose, the set of five (Rs 799) is the easy answer. It saves Rs 96 against five singles (5 x Rs 179 = Rs 895), and with any small add-on the order crosses Rs 999, which is the free shipping line.

Spiral, braided or rope: which twisted candle do you mean?

People use "twisted candle" for three different looks, and we make all three:

• Spiral pillar: a tall candle that twists along its whole length. Spiral Pillar Candles, Rs 179 each or Rs 799 for five.
• Braided rim: round candles with a chunky braided edge. Braided Candles, Rs 849 for a pack of 4 in pink, blue, butter yellow and peach.
• Rope-weave hearts: heart-shaped candles with a rope-weave rim. Heart Rope Candles, Rs 279 each or Rs 999 for a set of four.

For a dining table, pick the spiral pillars. For a coffee table tray or a gift box, the braided or rope candles sit lower and look fuller.

Where else to look, and when

• Wholesale portals (IndiaMART, TradeIndia and similar) are right if you need hundreds for an event or a shop. Expect minimum order quantities and seller-by-seller quality.
• Large marketplaces carry many unbranded twisted candles. Check the wax type in the listing: most do not say whether the candle is paraffin or soy.
• If you need a fragrance, a spiral candle is the wrong product. Spiral pillars are about shape and colour; for scent, look at a jar candle such as our Vanilla Reverie (Rs 549).

Burning a spiral candle safely

Stand it upright in a holder that grips the base, on a stable, heat-proof surface, and keep it away from curtains. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each use, never leave it burning unattended, and do not burn it for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
