Sunflower candles online in India: sunflower tealights and the urli candle pair

Sunflower candles online in India

We make two candles with a sunflower on them, both hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar:

• Sunflower Tealights: ten ivory tealights in clear cups, each topped with a yellow sunflower, Rs 449 for the pack.
• Urli Candles: a pair of flower-shaped urli bowls with a gold rim, filled with gold-flecked soy wax and topped with a yellow sunflower, Rs 699 for the pair.

The tealights are for spreading light around a room. The urli pair is a centrepiece. Both ship anywhere in India.

Which sunflower candle fits your plan

Why sunflower works for Indian festivals

Yellow is the colour of haldi and marigold, so a sunflower candle sits naturally beside genda phool garlands, a brass thali or a terracotta diya. That is why the Sunflower Tealights suit a Diwali set-up even though they are not a traditional shape, and why the Urli Candles, which mix the sunflower with a gold urli, work so well in a pooja room or at a haldi function.

Outside festivals, sunflowers feel like summer: a breakfast table, a balcony, a yellow-and-white kitchen.

Putting a sunflower set-up together

• A Diwali doorway: the Urli pair on a small table by the door, with ten Sunflower Tealights along the threshold or the steps. Together that is Rs 1,148, and orders from Rs 999 ship free.
• A pooja corner: one Urli bowl on each side of the idol, with a few tealights on the thali.
• A dining table: tealights down the middle, with a few marigold heads between them.
• A gift for parents: the Urli pair alone, with gift packaging and a note added on the product page.

For more lights in the same style, add a pack of Daisy Tealights (Rs 449 for 10, in mint and ivory or purple and ivory). For a fully traditional look, mix in Diya Candles, six terracotta-red diyas for Rs 449.

Fragrance: Sunflower candles online in India

Neither sunflower candle has fragrance added. They are decorative soy wax candles, which suits a mandir where agarbatti or dhoop is already lit. Our only scented candle is Vanilla Reverie, Rs 549.

Where else to buy sunflower candles

• Sunflower-scented candles are usually a blended floral fragrance from scent-led brands.
• Wholesale portals if you need dozens for a wedding or a haldi function.

Safety: Sunflower candles online in India

Keep sunflower candles away from marigold garlands, curtains and rangoli powder. Use a heat-proof surface, trim the wick to about 5 mm, never leave a lit candle unattended, and do not burn it more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
