Small candles in India: packs of tealights and little candles, with prices

Small candles in India

The smallest candles we make are tealights, sold in packs of 10, and a few single decor candles for a desk or a gift:

• Heart Tealights: 10 red heart tealights in clear cups, Rs 349
• Sunflower Tealights: 10 ivory tealights topped with a yellow sunflower, Rs 449
• Daisy Tealights: 10 tealights topped with daisies, in mint and ivory or purple and ivory, Rs 449
• Heart Bubble Candle: one small heart bubble candle, Rs 249

All of them are hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar and delivered across India.

Which small candle do you need?

"Small candle" means different things depending on the job. Pick by what you are doing with it:

Why tealights are the easiest small candle

A tealight sits in its own cup, so the wax stays in place while it burns. You do not need a holder, and you can put a row of them on a ledge, inside a glass, or on a steel plate in the mandir. That is why tealights are the go-to small candle for Diwali and for decorating a room for a party.

Our tealights are not the plain white kind. Each pack has a design on top, a sunflower, a daisy or a heart, so they look decorative even before you light them. If you only need plain light, a basic white tealight pack from a local shop will cost less.

How many small candles to buy

• A balcony railing or the steps to the door: two packs of 10 is a good start. Two packs of Sunflower Tealights are Rs 898.
• A dining table: one pack of 10 down the middle, or a mix of tealights and one taller candle like a Spiral Pillar Candle (Rs 179).
• A heart shape on the floor for a proposal or anniversary: two packs of Heart Tealights (Rs 698) makes a clear outline.
• A desk or a gift: one Heart Bubble Candle or one Blossom Candle is enough.

Orders of Rs 999 or more ship free. Two packs of Sunflower Tealights (Rs 898) plus one Spiral Pillar Candle (Rs 179) crosses that line.

About fragrance

These small candles have no fragrance added. That is useful at a dining table, where scent can clash with food, and in a pooja room, where many families use agarbatti. If you want a candle that smells, our one scented candle is Vanilla Reverie, Rs 549, in an amber glass jar.

Where else to buy small candles

• Local shops and grocery apps for plain white tealights and small stick candles at the lowest price.
• Large marketplaces for big packs of 50 or 100 plain tealights, LED tealights for children's rooms, and small scented votives.
• Wholesale portals if you need small candles in the hundreds for an event or a shop.

Lighting small candles safely

Small candles are easy to forget once lit. Keep them on a heat-proof surface away from curtains, rangoli powder and children, trim each wick to about 5 mm, never leave them burning unattended, and do not burn them more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
