A hamper she will not find on every gifting site

Most hampers for a girlfriend look the same: a basket, a teddy, a box of chocolates and some fake roses. She has probably had one already. A chest you fill yourself says more, because you chose each piece. On Raajkosh the gift chest builder lets you pick 3 to 6 handmade soy candles, then the chest style, a ribbon and a personal message. We deliver it across India.

Each piece costs its shop price, plus the chest style you choose. Choose 4 or more pieces and 10% comes off the pieces. The builder shows the full price before checkout, so the totals below are for the pieces only.

Three chests for three kinds of girlfriend

Add the chest style to each. Put in a fourth piece and the 10% comes off all four.

The first chest is two teddies and a heart: a teddy peeking out of a rose-ringed gift box, a teddy in a blue bonnet, and a bubble candle dotted with tiny red hearts. None of them needs to be lit to be enjoyed, which matters if she lives in a hostel or a PG where candles are frowned on.

The second is for the girl whose room looks like a mood board: two sculpted peonies, a pair of conch-shaped vessels in sky blue and sand beige, and ten daisy tealights for the windowsill.

The third is for a night in. Vanilla Reverie is our only scented candle, warm vanilla in an amber glass jar with a screw lid. The four rope-rimmed hearts and the ten red heart tealights do the rest.

What to think about before you click

• Where she lives. Hostel, PG or parents' house: pick pieces that work as decor without being lit. Her own flat: anything goes.
• How long you have been together. Early on, three small pieces and a light message. A year in, a fuller chest and a message only she would understand.
• Her colours. Look at her room or her Instagram. Blush and ivory, or pastels, or bold reds. One colour story looks planned; a mix looks random.
• One scent at most. If she is sensitive to fragrance, leave Vanilla Reverie out. Every other piece is a shaped soy candle with no fragrance stated.

Birthday, monthsary, long distance or saying sorry

Her birthday: the cute chest plus a Blossom Candle at Rs 299 as a fourth piece, so the 10% comes off.

Long distance: ship it to her city with your message. It arrives as a box from you, not from a gifting app.

After a fight: keep it small and honest. Three pieces and two lines in the message that actually say sorry.

If she would rather have chocolates or skincare

Our chest is only candles. If she loves chocolate, make-up, skincare or jewellery, a gifting site or a beauty store does those hampers well, and many deliver fast in big cities. Plenty of people pair the two: chocolates from a local shop, and a candle chest as the part that stays on her shelf.

Want her name on a candle, or a colour we do not stock? Ask through custom orders with the idea and the date. Custom pieces are not returnable unless damaged or wrong.

Delivery, payment and a note on lighting

Orders dispatch in 24 to 48 hours and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch; we do not promise a delivery date, so order early and check the estimate for her pincode on the product page. Orders of Rs 999 or more ship free; below that, Rs 79. Payment is prepaid only, by UPI, card, net banking or wallet; no cash on delivery. Damage reported within 24 hours of delivery is replaced or refunded.

If she lights them: trim the wick to about 5 mm, keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours, and never leave a candle burning alone.
