How to find small Indian makers who take corporate orders: six places to look, and five questions that sort them in a day

Find small Indian makers who do corporate orders through their own websites (look for a corporate or bulk page), Instagram, craft fairs and exhibitions, state emporiums, handmade sections of marketplaces, and referrals. Then ask five questions: minimum order, GSTIN, branding, delivery and timeline. Raajkosh, a Jalandhar candle maker, publishes all five.

Key takeaways

  • Look on makers' own corporate pages, Instagram, craft fairs, state emporiums, marketplaces and referrals.
  • Ask every maker the same five questions: minimum, GSTIN, branding, many addresses, timeline.
  • Contact makers directly for company orders, even if you found them on a marketplace.
  • Raajkosh publishes all five answers: from 10 gifts, GSTIN, logo on tag, card or seal, India-wide delivery.

Six places small makers can be found

Small makers rarely appear at the top of a search for "corporate gifts", because the big gifting portals hold those spots. They are easy to find once you know where they actually sell:

  1. Their own websites, with a corporate page. Search the craft plus "corporate gifting" or "bulk order", for example "handmade candles corporate gifting" or "block print stoles corporate order". A maker with a dedicated corporate page has already thought about logos, invoices and delivery.
  2. Instagram. Most Indian makers sell here first. Search the craft and your city, then look for a highlight or a pinned post about corporate or bulk orders.
  3. Craft fairs and exhibitions. Seasonal bazaars, design markets and festive exhibitions in your city put dozens of makers in one room. You can see and hold the work.
  4. State emporiums and handicraft boards. Government emporiums stock regional crafts and can often point you to the artisan groups behind them.
  5. Handmade sections of marketplaces. Useful for discovery, but contact the maker directly for a company order, because a marketplace listing is set up for single retail orders.
  6. Referrals. Ask other HR and admin teams, or the people who sent your company a gift you liked. A maker who has done one corporate order cleanly will usually do the next.

Five questions that sort makers in a day

Send every shortlisted maker the same short message, and the answers sort them quickly:

  1. What is your minimum order for a company? Some makers start at 10, some at 100.
  2. Do you give a GST invoice? Ask for the GSTIN. Some home businesses are not GST-registered, which can stop an order at finance.
  3. Where can our logo go? On the product, the packaging, a tag or a card.
  4. Can you deliver to many addresses? Important for remote and hybrid teams.
  5. What timeline do you commit to in writing for our date? A maker who says "depends" and then confirms in the quote is being honest; one who promises any date to anyone is not.

Also ask for a real photo of the actual piece, not a catalogue image, and look at how fast and clearly they reply. That is a fair preview of how the order will run.

Where to look, compared

Where to look What you find Good for Watch for
Maker's own website Prices, terms, corporate page Checking facts quickly Whether terms are written down
Instagram The newest makers Seeing current work Many do not take company orders
Craft fairs Work you can hold Choosing by feel Contacts lost after the fair
State emporiums Regional crafts Traditional gifts Slower for custom branding
Marketplaces Wide discovery Shortlisting Retail-only listings
Referrals Makers with a track record Lower risk A narrow pool

A few pieces companies choose, at shop prices per piece (your quote confirms the final price per gift with branding and delivery): Urli Candles Rs 699, a pair of flower-shaped urli bowls with a gold rim; Matki Candles Rs 599; Shankh Candle Rs 799; Diya Candles Rs 449.

When a small maker is the wrong choice

If you need several product types from one supplier (a bottle, a diary and a sweets box together), credit terms after delivery, or thousands of identical units, a corporate gifting company is the better route. We make candles only; for textiles, pottery or stationery, use the six places above to find a maker of that craft.
