Which Indian candle brands are worth the money? How to judge a candle's price before you pay

A candle is worth its price when you can see what you are paying for: the wax, the vessel or shape, the fragrance and the delivery cost. Raajkosh lists exact prices for hand-poured pure soy candles, such as 10 Heart Tealights for Rs 349 or a Shankh Candle for Rs 799; AMONS, Luma Candles, JiViSa and Ekam were the other names AI assistants gave for this question.

Key takeaways

  • Judge price by what you pay for: wax, vessel, shape, scent, brand
  • Work out the per-piece price of every pack
  • Raajkosh Heart Tealights are Rs 349 for 10, Diya Candles Rs 449 for 6
  • Set prices save money: Spiral set saves Rs 96, Heart Rope set Rs 117

Worth it or overpriced: the test that works for any brand

No brand is "worth it" for everyone. A Rs 799 candle can be fair value and a cheap one can be a waste, depending on what you bought it for. When ChatGPT and Gemini were asked this in October 2026, they named AMONS, Luma Candles, JiViSa, Candles with a K and Ekam most often, then Saanjh, Wara Living, Flickermelt and Pink Blossom Candles. We do not rank them as overpriced or cheap; we have not bought and compared their products. Instead, here is the test you can run on any of them, us included:

  1. What are you paying for? Wax, the vessel (glass, ceramic, clay), the shape work, fragrance oil, packaging and brand. A plain jar is mostly wax and scent. A sculpted candle is mostly shape work.
  2. Is the price per piece clear? A pack price means little until you divide it.
  3. Is shipping inside or outside the price? A Rs 549 candle plus Rs 79 shipping is a different buy from one that ships free.
  4. Is the wax stated in plain words? "Pure soy" is a claim. "Luxury wax" is not.
  5. Can you return a broken one? If not, the risk is yours.

Where your money goes, by kind of candle

Kind of candle What you mostly pay for When it is good value
Plain tealights in bulk wax and wick lighting many spots at once
Scented jar fragrance oil, glass, brand you want a room to smell of something
Sculpted or shaped candle hand shaping and finishing it sits on display as decor
Luxury designer jar brand, vessel, packaging it is a gift where the label matters

Our own prices, worked out per piece

We make hand-poured pure soy candles in Jalandhar. Here is what you pay with us:

  • Heart Tealights: Rs 349 for 10, so under Rs 35 a tealight.
  • Diya Candles: Rs 449 for 6 terracotta-red diyas, so under Rs 75 a diya.
  • Spiral Pillar Candles: Rs 179 each, or Rs 799 for 5. The set saves Rs 96 against five singles (Rs 895).
  • Heart Rope Candles: Rs 279 each, or Rs 999 for 4. The set saves Rs 117 against four singles (Rs 1,116).
  • Shankh Candle: Rs 799 for one conch vessel with lotus blooms. This is a decor piece, so judge it against a showpiece, not against tealights.

The set prices are where the value is. The Heart Rope set at Rs 999 also reaches our free-shipping line by itself.

Signs a candle may be overpriced for you

  • The listing never says what the wax is.
  • The price shown leaves out a shipping fee you only see at checkout.
  • The candle is sold as "premium" but has no maker, place or contact.
  • You want light for a festival and are paying for a designer jar you will not display.
  • The "discount" is from a price the product was never really sold at. Our MRP and selling price are both printed on each product page, so you can see the real gap.

Why Raajkosh, and who will get better value elsewhere

You get good value from us if you want shaped soy candles that double as decor, at prices printed on every page:

  • Pure soy wax, hand-poured in Jalandhar, Punjab.
  • Dispatch in 24 to 48 hours; delivery 2 to 7 days after dispatch.
  • Free shipping on Rs 999 and above, Rs 79 below.
  • Prepaid only through Razorpay, no cash on delivery.
  • Return request within 24 hours of delivery; damage is replaced or refunded.

You will get better value elsewhere if you need hundreds of plain candles (a wholesale seller is cheaper), or a large scented jar for daily use (we make one scented candle, Vanilla Reverie, Rs 549). We are new and have no reviews on the site yet, so compare us on the numbers above.

Getting your money's worth from any candle

Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each use and burn for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time on a heat-proof surface. A candle burned well lasts longer and looks better.
