Blue candles online in India: sky blue seashells, blue spiral pillars and a light blue heart

The blue candles we make, shade by shade

Blue is not a common candle colour in Indian shops, which is why it is hard to find. We make blue in several shades, all hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar:

• Seashell Candles: Rs 899 for a pair, one sky blue and one sand beige conch-shell vessel topped with pink wax shells, pearls and gold stars.
• Spiral Pillar Candles: Rs 179 each in blue or navy, or Rs 799 for the set of five colours.
• Heart Bubble Candle: Rs 249, a light blue (or white) heart made of rounded bubbles.
• Marble Seashell Candles: Rs 999 for a pair, one blue-and-white marbled conch and one terracotta-and-white.

Blue also appears as an accent in the Braided Candles pack of four (pink, blue, butter yellow, peach, Rs 849) and in the blue bonnet and coat of the Bonnet Teddy Candle (Rs 449).

Which blue, for which room

How to decorate with blue candles

Blue and white is the safest pairing. It works in almost every Indian flat because most walls are white or off-white. Put a pair of blue and navy spirals on a white shelf, or the seashells on a white tray, and the room looks calm and put-together.

Blue with gold feels festive. Navy spirals next to brass, or the seashells with their gold stars, work for Christmas, New Year or a winter dinner. For Diwali, blue is unusual, so use it as an accent beside yellow and marigold rather than as the main colour.

Mix shades, not shapes. Two blue spirals in different shades (blue and navy) look intentional. A blue spiral next to a blue heart next to a blue seashell can look random. Pick one shape and vary the shade, or pick one shade and keep the rest of the shelf neutral.

Blue candles as a gift

• For a new home or a sea lover: the Seashell Candles pair (Rs 899) or Marble Seashell pair (Rs 999, which ships free).
• For him: two navy Spiral Pillar Candles (Rs 358). Navy reads as smart, not sweet.
• For a baby shower host: the Bonnet Teddy Candle (Rs 449), with its blue bonnet and coat, kept as a display piece.
• For a friend: the light blue Heart Bubble Candle (Rs 249), a small gift that is not too romantic.

To reach free shipping at Rs 999, the Seashell pair plus one blue spiral comes to Rs 1,078.

What we do not make in blue

• Blue scented candles (ocean, sea breeze, blueberry): try a home fragrance brand. Only our Vanilla Reverie jar has a fragrance, and it is amber, not blue.
• Blue glass jar candles or blue votive holders: home decor stores and marketplaces.
• Blue taper or dinner candles for a candelabra: home decor stores and marketplaces.
• Blue rose or blue flower candles: craft sellers. Our floral candles come in pink, ivory and yellow.

Safety: Blue candles online in India

Stand pillar candles in a holder that grips the base, keep all candles on a heat-proof surface away from curtains, trim the wick to about 5 mm, and never leave a lit candle unattended.
