A chest, not a single candle

When the budget per gift is above Rs 2,000, the gift is going to someone who matters to the business: a top client, a board member, a founder's personal list, a partner who carried a hard year. At that level a single candle would look thin. What we make instead is a gift chest: several of our largest handmade soy wax pieces in one box, with your logo pressed in a wax seal or carried on the tag and note card.

Orders start at 10 gifts. Every chest comes with a GST invoice in your company's name and GSTIN, and goes to one office or to each person's address across India.

Vanilla Reverie is the only scented piece; the rest are shaped decorative candles. Each piece is hand-poured in Jalandhar, so the marbling, the braids and the lotuses vary a little from chest to chest. We think that is part of the point at this price.

What makes a gift feel upscale, and what does not

Weight and space. Fewer, larger pieces with room around them. The marbled conch vessels and the shankh carry the chest; the jar and braided pieces support them.

A seal, not a print. A wax seal with your logo on the box says more about the sender than a logo printed on the item. Ask for it in the enquiry.

Words from a person. A note card in your colours, with two lines from the founder or the account lead, signed. At this level the card is half the gift.

No cute shapes. Teddies and hearts belong in other gifts. Keep the chest to vessels, shells and the shankh.

Higher budgets. If your budget runs up to Rs 10,000 a gift, a candle chest is probably not the whole answer. Companies at that level often give silverware, fine pens, leather goods, premium audio or experiences. A Raajkosh chest can still sit alongside one of those as the handmade part of the gift.

When to choose something else

An upscale candle chest is the wrong choice for recipients who do not use candles at home, for offices or homes where open flames are not allowed (unless the pieces will stay as decor), or when the gift must arrive on a fixed date we cannot confirm. Other premium corporate gifts in India include fine dry fruit and chocolate collections, single-estate tea, silver, crystal and leather. Corporate gifting companies source many of these; we only make candles.
