Writing for a best friend, not a colleague

The tag can be braver than a card for anyone else.

• Both your names with the year you met: "Tanvi and Sana, since 2011".
• The nickname nobody else is allowed to use.
• A line from the song you sang on every road trip.
• The hostel room number, or the name of your college canteen.
• For a friend going through a bad patch: something short and kind. No essays on a tag.

If you are ordering for a group of five college friends, each with her own name, that is a custom order with several tags. Mention the number of pieces and every name, spelt exactly, in the enquiry.

A male best friend

Timing it for a birthday or Friendship Day

For a custom pair, write to us early with your date. We will tell you the timeline in our reply, and we never promise a delivery date on a page.

For a shop pair, orders dispatch in 24 to 48 hours and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch. Check the delivery estimate for your friend's pincode on the product page. If you live in different cities, you can place two orders, one to each address, or one order to her with both pieces and a note asking her to keep the other one for your next visit.

When a candle is not the right friend gift

If your friend has asked for a photo collage, a polaroid wall, a friendship bracelet with your initials or a custom sketch, go to a photo-print site, a jeweller or an illustrator; they do it better. For same-day delivery in her city, a local gift shop is the honest answer.

The small print

Prepaid only: UPI, card, net banking or wallet; no cash on delivery. Shop orders can be returned on a request within 24 hours of delivery. Personalised pieces cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or wrong.

One safety line for both of you: never leave a lit candle alone, and keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours.
