Gifts a manager can buy a small team from their own pocket: the same piece for everyone, for under Rs 2,000 in totalGifts a manager can buy a small team from their own pocket: the same piece for everyone, for under Rs 2,000 in total

Spend little, make it equal, write the note yourself

When the money is yours, not the company's, three rules keep the gift right. Give everyone the same thing, so nobody compares. Keep the total within what you would spend on one good dinner out, so the gift does not become a statement about your salary. And write one line per person in your own words, because that is what separates a manager's gift from a company's.

What managers in India often buy for a team of four to nine, by kind:

• Sweets or a cake from a local bakery: shared on the day, quick to arrange, forgotten by the weekend.
• Chocolate boxes from a chocolate brand or a personalised chocolate shop: welcome, and easy to buy in small numbers.
• Stationery sets from a stationery brand: practical for a desk team.
• Small plants from a nursery: calm, but a delivery problem for a team spread across cities.
• A small handmade candle each from Raajkosh, Jalandhar: Spiral Pillar Candles at Rs 179 each, or Rs 799 for the set of five in ivory, pink, blue, yellow and navy; the Heart Bubble Candle at Rs 249; or the Blossom Candle at Rs 299. Each is hand-poured in pure soy wax and stays on a desk long after the occasion.

The set of five trick, and other team totals

For a team of five, the Spiral Pillar set is the neatest buy we sell: five candles, one in each colour, so each person picks their own and nobody gets a duplicate. Here is what common team sizes cost at our shop prices, worked out:

Orders of Rs 999 or more ship free; below that, delivery is Rs 79. There is no minimum on shop orders, so a team of four is as easy to buy for as a team of forty.

Picking the piece for your team

• Mixed men and women, any age: the spirals. Navy and ivory read as calm and formal; nobody finds them too cute.
• A cheerful, younger team: the Heart Bubble Candle in white or light blue, dotted with tiny red hearts. Playful, not romantic, at Rs 249.
• A team that sits together at desks: the Blossom Candle, small and bright, made to cheer up a desk.
• You know they like a scent: our one scented candle, Vanilla Reverie, is Rs 549; it is more than most managers spend from their own pocket per head, so save it for a team of two or three.

Use the optional gift packaging and the gift note on the product page for the line per person.

When the company starts paying

If your own budget turns into a team budget, or HR wants every team to give the same thing, it becomes a corporate order. Raajkosh takes those from 10 gifts, with no minimum order value. The logo can go on the gift tag, the note card or a wax seal, with the branding and lead time confirmed in the quote. You get a GST invoice with the company's GSTIN, delivery to one office or every address, and the order is prepaid as the quote sets out. Branded gifts are not returnable unless damaged, defective or wrong. All of it is on Raajkosh corporate gifting: minimum order, logo and GST. If you are unsure who we are, read who makes our candles.

Times a candle is the wrong buy for your team

If you want to celebrate today, a cake from the bakery downstairs beats anything that ships: we dispatch in 24 to 48 hours and delivery takes 2 to 7 days after, and we never promise a date. If your floor bans flames and the team would rather have something useful, buy stationery. And if the team is mostly remote and in five cities, five separate orders under Rs 999 each pay Rs 79 delivery, so a voucher may be simpler.
