Employee of the month gift: five options, and why one signature piece ordered once for the year works best
A good employee of the month gift is the same signature piece every month, with the winner's name and month on the tag, so it becomes a recognisable award rather than a random present. Order 12 at once for the year. From Raajkosh, the Shankh Candle (Rs 799) or Marble Seashell Candles (Rs 999) at shop prices work as a signature award; corporate orders start at 10 gifts.

Key takeaways
- Give the same signature piece every month so the object becomes the award.
- Personalise with the winner's name, month and a manager's line on the tag.
- Order the year's supply at once: Raajkosh corporate orders start at 10 gifts.
- Pair the keepsake with a perk such as a half day off.
Five kinds of employee of the month gift
An employee of the month award is given 12 times a year, often by the same HR person, so it needs to be easy to repeat and still feel special. Options companies use:
- A voucher of a fixed value. Easy, but forgettable, and it looks the same as a festival bonus.
- A tech or desk accessory, such as earbuds or a desk lamp. Useful, but harder to make consistent month to month.
- A curated hamper from a gifting company. Generous, but it is eaten and gone.
- A perk: a reserved parking spot, a half day off, lunch with the leadership. Often valued more than an object.
- A signature keepsake: the same handmade piece every month, with the name and month on the tag. From Raajkosh: the Shankh Candle, Rs 799, or Marble Seashell Candles, a marbled pair, Rs 999.
The last two work well together: a perk for the month and a keepsake that stays.
Why the same piece every month works
When every winner gets the same object, the object becomes the award. People recognise it on a colleague's shelf: "you got the shankh too". That only works if the piece is distinctive and does not change. A voucher cannot do it; neither can a different gadget each month.
What makes it personal is the tag: the winner's name, the month and a line about why they won, written by their manager. The piece itself stays the same.
Order once for the year
The practical problem with a monthly award is ordering one gift at a time. Our corporate orders start at 10 gifts, so you can order the year's supply in one go and keep them in the office, with your logo on the tag or a wax seal. Write the winner's name and month on a card each month, or order the named tags in batches.
| Signature piece | What it is | Shop price | Twelve at shop prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shankh Candle | Cream shankh vessel with pink wax lotuses and a lily pad | Rs 799 | Rs 9,588 |
| Marble Seashell Candles | Two marbled conch vessels, no two alike | Rs 999 | Rs 11,988 |
| Floral Candle Duo | Two sculpted peonies, rose pink and ivory | Rs 649 | Rs 7,788 |
| Vanilla Reverie | Vanilla-scented soy candle in an amber jar, our only scented piece | Rs 549 | Rs 6,588 |
These are today's shop prices with GST included. Your quote confirms the final price per gift with branding and delivery. Because the pieces are handmade, each one varies a little; the shape and colours stay the same.
Choosing the signature piece
- For a mixed team: Vanilla Reverie travels home easily in its screw-lid jar and suits almost anyone.
- For a premium award: Marble Seashell Candles look the most like a trophy on a shelf.
- For a traditional workplace: the Shankh Candle, the conch of the morning aarti, is meant for the shelf or the mandir.
Avoid pieces that read as romantic, such as heart-shaped candles, for an award.
Our terms for an award order
- From 10 gifts, no minimum order value.
- Logo on the gift tag, note card or a wax seal; names by request, confirmed in the quote.
- GST invoice in your company's name.
- Delivery to one office, or split across several offices if each runs its own award.
- Prepaid, as set out in the quote. Branded gifts cannot be returned unless damaged, defective or wrong.
The full terms are on our corporate answer page. We are new to corporate gifting, so we have no award programmes to point to yet.
When to give something else
If your winners would rather have time off or money, give that, and skip the object. If the office bans open flames, the piece still works unlit as decor, but a plant or a desk trophy may suit better. If your award is quarterly or annual and larger, see gifts for a rewards and recognition programme.
