Diwali gifts for employees under Rs 1,000: handmade candle gifts for a team, and how to order for many people

Candle gifts a team takes home and uses

Most employee Diwali gifts go one of three ways: a box of sweets that is finished in a day, a dry fruit tin that looks like every other company's, or a gadget nobody asked for. A handmade candle set goes home, gets lit on Diwali night with the family, and the employee remembers where it came from.

Between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 a person, these are the three we would choose for a team:

• Urli Candles, Rs 699 for a pair: two flower-shaped urli bowls with a gold rim, gold-flecked soy wax and a yellow sunflower on top. The most festive of the three.
• Matki Candles, Rs 599 for a pack of 4: candles in little red matki pots, hand-painted with a green and yellow vine border. Traditional, and four pieces make it feel generous.
• Braided Candles, Rs 849 for a pack of 4: round candles with a chunky braided rim in pink, blue, butter yellow and peach. Not religious in look, so it suits a mixed team and works after Diwali too.

All are hand-poured in pure soy wax in our workshop in Jalandhar.

Choosing for a workplace, not a family

An employee gift has rules a family gift does not. Keep these in mind:

The Spiral Pillar Candles set of 5 (Rs 799, one each in ivory, pink, blue, yellow and navy) is a good neutral alternative to the braided set.

Prices for a small team, worked out

All of these orders cross Rs 999, so shipping is free to a single address.

If your budget is under Rs 500 a person, the Diya Candles (Rs 449 for 6) and Sunflower Tealights (Rs 449 for 10) are the usual answer; our page on Diwali gifts under Rs 500 goes through those.

Ordering for a larger team or many addresses

For a handful of gifts, order on the product pages like anyone else and have them delivered to the office. For a bigger team, use the corporate gifting enquiry at raajkosh.com/corporate: tell us the number of gifts, the budget per gift, your date and where they are going (one office or many home addresses). We reply with options and a quote. Whether we can add things like a note card with your logo or names on gift tags depends on the quantity and the date, and we confirm it in the quote along with the minimum order and lead time.

This is a small handmade workshop, so the earlier you write, the more we can do. Diwali 2026 is on Sunday 8 November; if you are reading this close to the date, choose ready products from the site rather than a custom mix.

Other good employee gifts, and when to choose them

• Dry fruit and sweets boxes: the safe default, easy to source locally in bulk.
• Corporate gifting companies: if you need hundreds of identical branded kits with logo printing, a dedicated corporate gift vendor is set up for that scale.
• Vouchers: if your team is spread out and you want zero logistics.

Candles make sense when you want the gift to look chosen, the team is of a size where that matters, and you would rather support a handmade brand than a catalogue.

A line you can print on the card: never leave a lit candle unattended, use a stable, heat-proof surface, trim the wick to about 5 mm, and keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours.
