Under Rs 1,500 a gift

The shell and jar box comes out a little over the limit at shop prices; it is here because it is a favourite pairing, and the quote can swap the jar for a Lotus Candle to bring it under.

Vanilla Reverie is our only scented candle; the other pieces are shaped decorative candles.

Who this budget is usually for

A budget of this size per gift usually goes to a short list: key clients, channel partners, the leadership team, board members, or a team's top performers. That changes how you choose.

Keep it formal. Avoid teddies and hearts at this level. The Shankh, the seashell vessels and the Braided Candles look at home in a senior person's living room.

Two good pieces beat three small ones. The two-vessel and two-coast boxes feel heavier and more considered than a box of many little things.

Write the card yourself. For a list of 20 clients, a note card with your logo and two personal lines per person is worth more than any extra piece. Tell us in the enquiry if each card should carry a different message.

Use festive shapes only where they fit. The three-piece festive box is right for Diwali. For a year-end or New Year client gift, pick the shells or the braided pair.

Other gifts at this price, and when they suit better

At this budget, companies in India also give premium dry fruit boxes, single-origin tea or coffee sets, leather desk accessories, wireless audio, silver-plated items and curated mixed hampers from gifting companies. Those suit people who prefer something practical or edible. A handmade candle box suits recipients who host at home and like objects with a handmade look. Skip it for an office that bans open flames, unless the pieces will be kept as decor.
