When something other than a candle is the better call

Choose merchandise if the point is a team uniform for the launch photo. Choose a gift card or a cash bonus if the round came after a hard year of pay restraint: a candle does not replace that. Skip candles if your office bans open flames, unless you present the piece as decor. And if the announcement date might move at short notice, a gift you can buy locally on the day is safer.
