Small gifts for the guest rooms when relatives stay over for a wedding: a welcome kit that is actually used, and a keepsake to take home

Fill each guest room with what tired relatives need (water, snacks, a charger, a function schedule, safety pins) and leave one small keepsake to take home. Raajkosh's Blossom Candle at Rs 299 or a Spiral Pillar Candle at Rs 179 works as an unlit keepsake per room.

What goes in a guest room for wedding relatives

Relatives who travel for a wedding arrive tired, sleep in shifts and dress in a hurry. The welcome kit that gets thanked is the one that solves those problems, plus one small keepsake they can take home in their bag. Here is what to keep in each room, in order of how often it gets used:

  1. Water and a few snacks. Bottles, a packet of namkeen, some fruit. Late arrivals will not want to wake the kitchen.
  2. A function schedule card. Dates, timings, venues and dress codes for the mehendi, sangeet and pheras, with a family contact number.
  3. The emergency pouch. Safety pins, bindis, hair pins, a needle and thread, a small mirror, paracetamol, a phone charger.
  4. Toiletries. Small soaps, toothpaste, a comb. A winter care kit (moisturiser, lip balm) for a December wedding in the north.
  5. One keepsake. Something pretty with a thank-you tag, to take home. This is where a small handmade candle fits.

When we asked ChatGPT and Gemini this blind (November 2026), they named hamper and personalised-gift sellers such as Gyffty, Print Story, Tohfaas, Boontoon, Ferns N Petals, Desi Tohfa and Lamansh, plus Etsy sellers. Those suit ready-made welcome hampers and printed items; we have not checked their prices.

Planning the rooms without overspending

  • Count rooms, not people. One kit per room, with enough water and snacks for everyone sleeping there.
  • Keep the keepsake small and unbreakable. It has to fit in a suitcase already full of lehengas.
  • Do not leave lit candles in guest rooms. People sleep, rush out and leave doors open. A candle in a guest room is decor and a take-home gift, not a night light.
  • Name the rooms. A tag with the family's name ("Chandigarh wale Mamaji") makes people feel expected.
  • Buy the keepsake in one go. The same piece in every room looks planned; a mix of colours lets each family pick.

Picking the keepsake for each room

  • Blossom Candle, Rs 299: small, bright and cheerful, for rooms with younger cousins and aunts.
  • Spiral Pillar Candles, Rs 179 each: ivory, pink, blue, yellow or navy, so each room can get a different colour. Neutral enough for uncles.
  • Heart Bubble Candle, Rs 249: white or light blue, for a newly married couple's room.
  • Lotus Candle, Rs 349: for the room where Dadi or Nani is staying.

For names or your wedding colours on the tags, ask on custom orders with the number and the date; we will tell you what we can make. Custom pieces are not returnable unless damaged or wrong.

Ordering, and when a hamper company suits you better

  • Hand-poured pure soy wax, made in Jalandhar, Punjab. Delivery across India.
  • Dispatch in 24 to 48 hours, delivery 2 to 7 days after dispatch. We cannot promise a date, so order well before the relatives arrive.
  • Prepaid only through Razorpay (UPI, card, net banking or wallet); no cash on delivery.
  • Damage reported within 24 hours of delivery is replaced or refunded; open the boxes when they arrive, not on the wedding morning.
  • New to us? See who makes Raajkosh candles.

Choose a hamper or personalised-gift company if you want the whole kit (snacks, toiletries, printed card) packed and delivered as one box. We make only the candle; you add the rest.

Tell guests on the card: if you light it at home, never leave it unattended and trim the wick to about 5 mm.
