Gifts a hotel or homestay can give guests: welcome treats, departure keepsakes, and where a candle fits

Hotels and homestays usually give guests a local food treat on arrival and a small keepsake on departure. A handmade candle works as the departure keepsake, packed to take home: Raajkosh Vanilla Reverie (Rs 549, a lidded jar) or the Lotus Candle (Rs 349). From 10 gifts with your property's logo on the tag, via raajkosh.com/corporate.

Key takeaways

  • Arrival gift: local food. Departure gift: a keepsake for the suitcase
  • Hand candles over boxed at checkout, not lit in the room
  • Vanilla Reverie Rs 549 has a screw lid that travels; Lotus Candle Rs 349
  • From 10 gifts with your property's logo on the tag, card or wax seal

Two moments: the welcome and the goodbye

A guest gift at a hotel, resort or homestay does one of two jobs. On arrival it says "you are expected": something to eat or drink, often local. On departure it says "remember us": something small that goes into the suitcase and ends up on a shelf at home, with your property's name on it.

The options guests remember, by job:

  1. A local food welcome (a regional sweet, homemade pickle, local tea or coffee) from a nearby kitchen or a regional food brand: the most loved arrival gift, and it tells the guest where they are.
  2. An amenity upgrade (a better toiletry kit, a robe, slippers) from a hotel amenity supplier: useful during the stay, rarely taken home with feeling.
  3. A local craft piece (a block-printed pouch, a pottery coaster, a postcard set by a local artist) from artisans near you: the strongest sense of place.
  4. A handmade candle packed to take home from Raajkosh, Jalandhar: Vanilla Reverie, Rs 549, our one scented candle, in an amber glass jar with a black screw lid that travels in a suitcase; the Lotus Candle, Rs 349, a sculpted lotus in green and red or coral pink; the Blossom Candle, Rs 299, for a long list of guests. Shop prices; your quote confirms the final price.
  5. A festive-stay gift for Diwali or a wedding booking: Diya Candles, Rs 449 for six terracotta-red wax diyas, handed over boxed rather than lit in the room.

Choosing a guest gift that suits your property

  • Give the candle on the way out, not in the room. Many hotels do not allow open flames in rooms, and a guest lighting a candle beside the curtains is a risk you do not need. Hand it over boxed at checkout, with your tag on it. If your property has a supervised setting, such as a dinner table or a courtyard, lighting them there is your call.
  • Pick for the suitcase. A lidded jar or a sturdy single piece survives a flight. A set of loose tealights does not belong in hand luggage.
  • Match the price to the booking. A Rs 299 piece for every guest at a 20-room homestay is very different from a Rs 549 jar only for suite guests or long stays. Decide the rule first.
  • Put your name where they will see it. Our branding goes on the gift tag, the note card or a wax seal, so the guest sees your property's name each time they pick it up.

Ordering for a hotel or homestay

The terms on raajkosh.com/corporate, set out in full on our corporate gifting terms page:

  • From 10 gifts, no minimum order value, so a small homestay can order a season's worth without a large commitment.
  • Your property's logo on the gift tag, the note card or a wax seal; options for your quantity are confirmed in the quote.
  • GST invoice in your business name, with your GSTIN.
  • Delivery anywhere in India to the property, or to several properties if you run more than one.
  • Prepaid, as set out in the quote. No cash on delivery.
  • The quote confirms the pieces, branding, timeline and final price per gift. Branded pieces cannot be returned unless damaged, defective or wrong; report damage within 24 hours of delivery.

Every piece is hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar, Punjab. Store them boxed, away from direct sun and a hot reception counter, until you hand them out.

When we are the wrong supplier for guest gifts

  • You want a gift that says your region. A Goa homestay might give cashews or bebinca, a Kerala one banana chips or spices. A local maker will tell that story better than a candle made in Punjab.
  • You need consumables in large monthly volumes, such as room amenities restocked every week. An amenity supplier is built for that.
  • Your guests are mostly flying with hand luggage only. Keep the gift edible or flat.

For the card that goes with a candle: burn on a heat-proof surface, never leave it unattended, keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours. Tell us your room count and the budget at raajkosh.com/corporate or WhatsApp +91 85958 24586.
