Gifts architects and interior designers give clients: the finishing piece left in the room at handover

Architects and interior designers usually give clients a closing gift that belongs in the space they designed: a styled object for a shelf, a plant, a coffee-table book, or a handmade piece that suits the palette, such as Raajkosh Marble Seashell Candles (Rs 999 for two) or Braided Candles (Rs 849 for four). From 10 gifts a year with your studio's name on the tag via raajkosh.com/corporate.

By Raajkosh

Key takeaways

  • The closing gift is the last object you place in the room
  • Match the client's palette, not your brand colours
  • Marble Seashell Candles Rs 999, Braided Candles Rs 849, Spiral set of 5 Rs 799
  • Studio name on the tag; the note should name the room and the work

The best designer gift is the last object you place

An interior project ends with a walk-through: the client sees the finished home or office for the first time as a whole. Many designers and architects mark that moment by leaving one last object in the room, chosen to fit the palette, with a card. It is a thank-you, and it is also the final styling touch the client remembers you for.

What studios commonly give at handover, by kind:

  1. A styled object for a shelf or console (a ceramic vase, a brass bowl, a small sculpture) from a homeware or craft store: chosen to match the scheme.
  2. A plant in a good planter from a plant studio: brings the new space to life, and the client will tend it.
  3. A coffee-table book on architecture, design or the client's city, from a bookstore: suits clients who loved the process.
  4. A handmade candle piece chosen for the palette, from Raajkosh, Jalandhar: Marble Seashell Candles, Rs 999 for two marbled conch vessels in blue-and-white and terracotta-and-white, for a calm or coastal scheme; Braided Candles, Rs 849 for four round candles with plaited rims in pink, blue, butter yellow and peach, for a playful room; or the Spiral Pillar Candles set of five, Rs 799, twisted pillars in ivory, pink, blue, yellow and navy, for a dining table. Shop prices; your quote confirms the final price.
  5. A one-colour spiral set: single Spiral Pillar Candles are Rs 179 each, so three in navy for a dark dining room come to Rs 537.

Picking a closing gift that fits the room

  • Match the palette, not your brand. You know the client's colours better than anyone. Choose the piece that sits in the scheme: marble and terracotta for an earthy home, ivory spirals for a minimal one, the braided set for a child's room or a bright breakfast nook.
  • Place it, do not hand it over. Set it on the console or the dining table before the walk-through, with the card beside it. The client finds it as part of the finished room.
  • Think about the household. A home with toddlers or pets needs the piece on a high shelf. A pooja-room project might suit the Shankh Candle (Rs 799) better than decor.
  • Small studio name, big note. Your studio's name on the tag; the card should mention the room, the problem you solved, the date you started.
  • Photograph it. A closing piece styled in the finished space often makes the portfolio shot. Ask the client before you post their home.

How a studio orders from us

A studio handing over a project a month can order once and keep a small stock. The terms on raajkosh.com/corporate, set out in full on our corporate gifting terms page:

  • From 10 gifts, no minimum order value. Just one client? Order from the shop and add gift packaging and a gift note.
  • Your studio's name or logo on the gift tag, the note card or a wax seal.
  • GST invoice with your studio's billing name, address and GSTIN.
  • To your studio or straight to the site, anywhere in India.
  • Prepaid, as set out in the quote. No cash on delivery. The quote confirms pieces, branding, timeline and final price per gift.
  • For a colour our range does not have, our custom orders page takes enquiries; custom pieces are not returnable unless damaged or wrong.

Every piece is hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar and finished by hand, so the marbling and braids vary slightly. We are new, with no reviews yet.

When another closing gift suits the project better

  • The scheme is strictly minimal and the client dislikes candles. Leave a plant or a book.
  • It is a commercial fit-out. An office with an open-flame ban needs a plant or an artwork, not a candle.
  • You want a one-off sculptural object. A ceramicist or a metal craftsperson will make one; we make a set range.

On the card: burn on a heat-proof surface, never leave it unattended, keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours.
