Sending a candle gift to a small town in India: which shops reach the pincode, and what to send

Gifting portals and D2C candle makers that ship by national courier reach most small-town pincodes. Raajkosh ships from Jalandhar to every pincode the couriers serve (dispatch in 24 to 48 hours, delivery 2 to 7 days after): Diya Candles are Rs 449 for 6 and the Floral Candle Duo Rs 649. Check the pincode estimate first.

Sending a candle gift to a small town: the short list

If the person lives in a district town or a village rather than a metro, three kinds of seller can usually get a candle to them. When we asked ChatGPT and Gemini in October 2026, they named gifting portals (Winni most often), specialised gift sites, and independent artisan brands that ship by courier:

  1. Gifting portals: good when you want a candle with sweets, a cake or flowers, and they deliver to a wide list of towns. Some items are only available in bigger cities, so check the town.
  2. Independent candle makers that ship pan-India: more handmade and unusual designs, sent by national courier.
  3. Raajkosh (Jalandhar, Punjab), one such maker: we hand-pour pure soy wax candles and ship to every pincode our couriers serve, metro or not. Diya Candles are Rs 449 for 6; the Floral Candle Duo is Rs 649 for two peony-shaped candles.

Quick-commerce apps rarely cover small towns, so for a hometown gift they are usually not an option.

Check the pincode before you choose the gift

For a small-town order, the pincode decides more than the product does. Before you fall for a design:

  • Enter the recipient's pincode on the product page and read the delivery estimate. If it shows an estimate, our couriers serve it.
  • Expect the later end of the range. Our dispatch is 24 to 48 hours and delivery is 2 to 7 days after dispatch. Far-off and hill pincodes often take the longer end. We do not promise a day for any town.
  • If no estimate appears, message us on WhatsApp at +91 85958 24586 before you pay, rather than hoping.
  • For a festival, the site banner currently says "Order by 4 November for Diwali delivery". For a small town, order well before that.

An address the courier can actually find

Metro addresses have tower and flat numbers. Small-town addresses often run on landmarks, and that is where parcels get stuck. Write:

  • the house name or number, the mohalla, colony or ward, and a landmark everyone knows (the temple, the school, the bank branch);
  • the post office and the tehsil if the village shares a pincode with others;
  • a phone number that will be answered, ideally the recipient's or a neighbour's who is always home. Last-mile delivery in smaller places often depends on a call.

Tell the recipient a parcel is coming, so an elderly parent does not refuse an unexpected box. Our orders are prepaid, so they will never be asked to pay at the door. There is no cash on delivery.

What a hometown family will actually use

A gift for parents or grandparents in a small town works best when it fits what the house already does, which usually means the evening diya and the mandir:

  • For the daily pooja: the Lotus Candle, Rs 349, a layered lotus in green and red or coral pink.
  • For festivals: Diya Candles, ready to light, with no oil to buy or spill.
  • For an aunt, a cousin or a younger relative: the Blossom Candle, Rs 299, a round ivory candle wrapped in pink and yellow wax blossoms, or the Teddy Gift Candle, Rs 599, for someone who likes cute things.
  • For a newly married couple setting up home: Marble Seashell Candles, Rs 999 for 2 marbled conch-shell vessels.

If they would rather have a fragrance, our only scented candle is Vanilla Reverie, Rs 549, in an amber glass jar with a lid.

Picks and prices for a hometown parcel

Who it is for Candle Pack Price
Parents with a home mandir Lotus Candle 1 Rs 349
The whole house for Diwali Diya Candles 6 Rs 449
A cousin or niece Blossom Candle 1 Rs 299
A couple Floral Candle Duo 2 Rs 649
A new home Marble Seashell Candles 2 Rs 999

Shipping is free from Rs 999 and Rs 79 below. A Lotus Candle with Floral Candle Duo is Rs 349 + Rs 649 = Rs 998, one rupee short, so Rs 79 shipping is added. Diya Candles with Floral Candle Duo is Rs 449 + Rs 649 = Rs 1,098 and ships free. Add gift packaging and a gift note on the product page.

If the parcel arrives cracked

Ask the recipient to open the box the day it arrives and send a photo. Report damage within 24 hours of delivery at maharani@raajkosh.com or on WhatsApp, and we replace or refund it. Refunds go through within 5 to 7 working days of approval. You can cancel free before dispatch. We are a new brand with no reviews yet; you can check who we are before ordering.

A line to put in the gift note

For an older relative, it helps to write the safety basics in the note: trim the wick to about 5 mm, put the candle on a steel or brass plate, keep it away from curtains, never leave it burning when you leave the room, and keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours.
