100 tea light candles for Diwali: how many packs to buy, and when plain ones are smarter

Raajkosh tealights come in packs of 10 (Rs 349 to Rs 449), so 100 tealights is ten packs, Rs 4,490 for sunflower or daisy. Most homes need fewer decorated ones: mix a few packs with plain 100-packs from a local shop.

Do you really need 100 decorated tealights?

We do not sell a single 100-pack. Our tealights come in packs of 10, each with a design on top, and you can buy as many packs as you need:

Tealights Pack Price per pack 100 tealights (10 packs)
Heart Tealights 10 red hearts in clear cups Rs 349 Rs 3,490
Sunflower Tealights 10 ivory, sunflower on top, clear cups Rs 449 Rs 4,490
Daisy Tealights 10 with daisies, mint or purple set Rs 449 Rs 4,490

All are hand-poured in pure soy wax in Jalandhar. Honestly, though, most families who search for 100 tealights want plenty of plain light for Diwali at a low price. For that, a plain 100-pack from a local shop or a marketplace is cheaper. The smart way is to mix.

Where 100 tealights go in an Indian home on Diwali

Counting before you buy saves money. A typical flat or house uses tealights in these places:

  • The main door and threshold: 10 to 15
  • Balcony railing or boundary wall: 20 to 40, depending on length
  • Staircase: 2 per step
  • Rangoli border: 10 to 20
  • Windowsills: 4 to 6 per window
  • Mandir and dining table: 10 to 15

Add it up for your home. Many flats land between 50 and 100.

The mix that works: decorated where people look, plain everywhere else

Guests look closely at the door, the rangoli, the mandir and the dining table. They do not look closely at the far end of a railing. So:

  • Use decorated tealights at eye level and close up. Two or three packs of Sunflower or Daisy Tealights for the door, rangoli and table.
  • Use plain white tealights for distance. Railings, boundary walls and terraces, where only the flame shows.
  • Add diyas for the threshold. A pack of Diya Candles, six wax-filled terracotta-red diyas for Rs 449, makes the entrance feel traditional.

Three ready plans

  • Small flat: two packs of Sunflower Tealights plus one pack of Diya Candles, Rs 1,347, and it ships free. Use plain tealights for the balcony.
  • Mid-size home: four packs of tealights in a mix of sunflower and daisy, Rs 1,796, plus plain tealights for the railings.
  • All decorated: ten packs, Rs 4,490 for sunflower or daisy, or Rs 3,490 for hearts. Best for a wedding mehendi or a small party venue where every candle is seen.

Hearts, sunflowers or daisies for Diwali?

  • Sunflower: yellow sits with marigold and brass. The most festive of the three.
  • Daisy: softer and more modern; the mint set feels fresh, the purple set richer.
  • Heart: red hearts suit Karva Chauth, an anniversary or a proposal more than Diwali, but red is still a festive colour.

None of our tealights have fragrance added, which is good when you are lighting dozens at once: a hundred scented tealights in one room would be overpowering.

Where to buy plain tealights in bulk

  • Local kirana and pooja shops, which stock plain white tealights in big packs before Diwali.
  • Large marketplaces and grocery apps for packs of 50 or 100. Check the wax: most are paraffin, and some are unbranded.
  • Wholesale portals if you need several hundred for a temple, a society event or a shop.
  • LED tealights for children's rooms or places where an open flame is not safe, such as near curtains on a high floor.

Safety with many small flames

With dozens of tealights lit, keep them on heat-proof surfaces, away from curtains, rangoli powder, firecrackers and children's festive clothes. Trim wicks to about 5 mm, never leave them burning when no one is in the room, and do not burn them more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
