Indian makers of lidded scented jars

Yankee Candle is the classic American jar candle: a glass jar with a lid, a long list of fragrances and a scent that carries through a room. The look has been copied everywhere, and in India several brands now make lidded scented jars at local prices. When we asked ChatGPT and Gemini whether Yankee-style candles are available from Indian brands for less (October 2026), every answer said yes and named these:

1. Navrang Aroma Candles and House of Aroma (each named twice): fragrance-led brands with a wide scent list, the closest match to the Yankee idea of choosing from many scents.
2. Ekam and Niana: named for scented candles with a designed look, a good switch if the jar is a gift.
3. RAD LVNG: named for modern scented jars, cited from its own site.
4. Gauri Mantra and Asian Aura: smaller Indian makers named for scented jar candles sold online.
5. Raajkosh, for a single vanilla jar with a lid. Vanilla Reverie is Rs 549 (MRP Rs 699): vanilla-scented pure soy wax in an amber glass jar with a black screw lid and gold flakes on top, hand-poured in Jalandhar.
6. Nykaa, if you want to compare several of these in one place.

Comparing like for like: five things to read on a jar label

A Yankee jar and an Indian jar can look the same in a photo and be very different candles. Before you decide which is "for less", compare these on the label or product page:

• Wax weight. Price per 100 g of wax is the fair comparison, not price per jar. A cheaper jar with half the wax is not cheaper.
• Wax type. Paraffin, soy blend, coconut blend or pure soy. Each brand should say.
• Lid. A lid is part of the Yankee style: it keeps dust out and holds the scent. Check the listing photos.
• Scent choice. If you want one exact Yankee scent, look for a brand with a large fragrance list.
• Delivered price. Add shipping. Indian makers often ship free above a minimum order.

Be fair to us too: Raajkosh does not state a wax weight for Vanilla Reverie, so you cannot work out our price per 100 g from the page. Compare us on what is stated: the wax, the jar, the lid and Rs 549.

Lighting a lidded jar

Take the lid off before lighting and put it back only when the wax has cooled. Trim the wick to about 5 mm, never leave it unattended and keep each burn to 3 to 4 hours.
